JR Tokai Food Service will open “cafe & gifts Piyon Village” in the central concourse of JR Nagoya Station on June 15.
Piyorin is a fresh pudding made from Nagoya Cochin eggs, wrapped in bavarois and covered with powdered sponge. Piyorin Village is based on the concept of “the world where Piyorin and her friends live” dreamed up by Hiyori, a pastry chef who gently watches over Piyorin, and includes a sales area in the cafe. The store is based on the brand color “Piyorin Yellow,” and features various Piyorin throughout the interior and exterior.
The café area consists of two floors, the first and second floors. The store has multiple zones based on the motif of the Piyorin Village story, each with a different atmosphere and worldview. An automatic ticketing machine has been installed in the storefront to allow customers to wait their turn to enter the store, and a system has been introduced to notify customers when they will be called by scanning the issued two-dimensional code with a smartphone or other device. The café area is available for 90 minutes, and the company plans to introduce some seats that can be reserved.
The café menu includes more than five types of piyori, including the standard piyori, strawberry, chocolate, tea, and seasonal piyori, as well as two types of limited-edition piyori. The “village pi’yon” is made without the usual bavarois, but only with pudding made with eggs from Nagoya Coach, allowing customers to enjoy the rich flavor of the eggs directly. The caramel sauce is served separately and can be drizzled over the pudding as desired.
The “Starry Sky Piyon,” available only after 5:00 p.m., is a pudding wrapped in a cocoa and chocolate bavarois, then wrapped in a pitch-black crumb with bamboo charcoal to resemble the night sky. In addition, a variety of desserts, drinks, and food items are available. Details of each menu item will be announced around mid-May.
