Asakusa Station, the first flagship express train in 33 years. At Asakusa station, Spacia X was being promoted at various places.

The Departure Ceremony Six pairs of parents and their children were invited to the “cockpit lounge” of the first “Spacia X 1” train on the “TOBU Kids” website. One of them was chosen out of 1,300 pairs to participate in the departure ceremony. The “Spacia X No. 1” arrived at Asakusa Station at 7:33 a.m., with the top train, the N101, assigned to the train. The train arrived at Asakusa Station at 7:33 a.m., where the crew was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held before the stationmaster signaled the train’s departure.

The name of the train will be “Spacia X ○” instead of “Kegon” or “Kinu” as in the past. Since there are only two N100 Series trains at this time, two different operation patterns have been set up due to inspections. When one of the trains is inspected, only as many trains as can be operated by one train can be operated. In “Pattern A,” two trains each run on the up and down tracks: No. 3 (to Tobu Nikko) and No. 7 (to Kinugawa Onsen) on the down train, and No. 4 (from Tobu Nikko) and No. 8 (from Kinugawa Onsen) on the up train. In “Pattern B,” No. 1 and No. 5 (both bound for Tobu Nikko) will be added to the down trains, and No. 2 and No. 6 (both bound for Tobu Nikko) will be added to the up trains. The two round-trip trains in “Operation Pattern B” will be operated by Series 100 Spacia trains on “Operation Pattern A” days. Basically, “Operation Pattern B” is used on weekends and holidays, but on weekdays it varies depending on the day, so please check the latest information on Tobu Railway’s website.
