Marriott plans to open seven hotels adjacent to roadside stations. Kagoshima, Kumamoto, Saga, Fukuoka, Okayama, and Hyogo.

Kagoshima Prefecture Fairfield by Marriott Kagoshima Tarumizu Sakurajima The hotel will have a total of 95 rooms and is scheduled to open on April 12. The hotel will be located in Tarumi City, northwest of the Osumi Peninsula in central Kagoshima Prefecture. Marine Park Tarumizu is located nearby, where marine sports can be enjoyed in the warm waters of Kinko Bay. Canyoning can also be experienced in Sarugajo Canyon. Yakushima Island, whose ancient cedar forests and natural scenery inspired Studio Ghibli’s animated film “Princess Mononoke,” is also accessible by ferry from the Kagoshima mainland.

Fairfield by Marriott Kumamoto Aso, Kumamoto, Japan, 93 rooms in total, scheduled to open in the fall. The hotel will be located in Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture, in a scenic corner of the Aso Nakadake crater, its volcanic fumes, and Kusasenrigahama beach. It will offer a full range of activities, such as hot-air ballooning, canoeing, and horseback riding, to immerse visitors in the natural scenery. Visitors can also visit Aso Shrine, one of the oldest shrines in Japan with a history of over 2,500 years.

Saga Fairfield by Marriott Saga Ureshino Onsen 84 rooms in total, scheduled to open in summer. Located in Ureshino Onsen, a hot spring resort in southwestern Saga Prefecture, guests can relax in smooth alkaline natural hot springs. It will be possible to visit the “Saga Ganso Ninja Village Hizen Yume Kaido,” a ninja and history experience theme park, and the Yutoku Inari Shrine, one of the three most famous Inari shrines in Japan.

Fukuoka Fairfield by Marriott Fukuoka Ukiha will have a total of 51 rooms and is scheduled to open in the summer. Located near the Chikugo Plain, the rural landscape is dotted with rice paddies, orchards, ruins, temples, castle ruins, sake breweries, and hot springs. In Ukiha City, visitors can go fruit picking, taste sweets and desserts made from local fruits, and visit the Ukiha Inari Shrine located at the foot of the Mino Mountains.

Okayama Fairfield by Marriott Okayama Tsuyama 78 rooms in total, scheduled to open on April 11. Every spring, the Tsuyama Cherry Blossom Festival is held in Tsuruyama Park, which has approximately 5,000 cherry trees. There are also festivals such as the Tsuyama Noryo Gogo Festival, the Tsuyama Festival, and the Izumo Kaido Tsuyama Joto Mukashi-machi Festival, in which local people participate by wearing traditional costumes.
