On October 29, Tokyo Disney Resort announced a recall of the “Kitchen Timer” (3,600 yen) that had been sold both inside and outside the parks.
This is because some products have experienced a defect in which alkaline button batteries have swollen, causing the battery cover to lift; there is a risk that the batteries could leak or break if subjected to impact or other forces. The company has issued an announcement advising consumers to stop using the products and not to open the battery covers.
The recall covers 6,449 items sold between October 15 and 26. This includes items sold at Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, Bon Voyage, the “Tokyo Disney Resort Shopping” section of the Tokyo Disney Resort app, and the official Disney online store, “DisneyStore.jp,” among other locations.
If you have this product in your possession, we will arrange for its pickup and send you a QUO Card in the amount equivalent to the product’s price. A Tokyo Disney Resort Special Support Desk will be open from October 29 to December 25 to accept returns via toll-free phone or the online inquiry form.
