The Sanyo Shinkansen offers a special “Let’s Ride the Shinkansen! Ticket” exclusively for students. A one-way trip from Osaka to Hakata costs 11,000 yen.

JR West will sell the “Let’s Ride the Shinkansen! Ticket” for a limited time from November 1 through February 28, 2027. The ticket is available exclusively through JR West’s online reservation service “e5489,” and payment is accepted by credit card only.

This is a limited-quantity ticket offering discounted fares on the Sanyo Shinkansen “Nozomi” train’s standard reserved seats or Green Car seats for WESTER members aged 12 to 25. The Shinkansen travel section is between Shin-Osaka and Hakata or between Hiroshima and Hakata, and advance identity verification using a My Number Card is required for purchase.

Fares are 11,000 yen for a reserved seat in a standard car and 13,000 yen for a Green Car seat between Osaka City and Hakata; between Hiroshima City and Hakata, fares are 7,000 yen for a reserved seat in a standard car and 8,000 yen for a Green Car seat. In Hakata, the “Fukuoka City” zone is not available.

The validity period is from December 1 to February 28, 2027 (excluding the year-end and New Year’s holidays from December 25 to January 8). There is a purchase limit of one ticket per person for both Green Car and reserved seats in standard class; even if the travel section or direction differs, a second purchase is not permitted for either class.

For example, if you purchase a reserved seat ticket for a standard-class car from Hakata to Hiroshima City, you cannot purchase additional reserved seat tickets for standard-class cars for routes such as Hakata to Osaka City or Hiroshima City to Hakata.

Additionally, the company plans to launch a campaign for users of this product around spring 2027.
