Marriott International, Sekisui House, JR East Itochu Real Estate Development, and Pacifica Hotels announced plans to open the “Courtyard by Marriott Hida Takayama”—the first property of this brand in Gifu Prefecture— (1-42-2 Hanaoka-cho, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, and four other parcels) in the fall of 2028.

Takayama is known for its well-preserved Edo-period streetscape and as the gateway to Shirakawa-go, a World Heritage Site. The hotel is located within walking distance of JR Takayama Station and is close to the city center, historic tourist attractions, and restaurants.

Designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers, the hotel will feature a total of 207 rooms, including suites, and will also include shared spaces where guests can work, relax, and socialize during their stay.

The eight-story building is also scheduled to feature an all-day dining restaurant serving Japanese and international cuisine; the semi-open kitchen design is intended to create a lively dining experience.
