The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Public Bathhouse Industry Public Health Trade Association (Bathhouse Association) will launch a “Public Bath Experience Campaign for Young People” on November 4, with the aim of increasing usage among the younger generation. Focusing on the “digital fatigue” experienced by today’s youth, the campaign—under the theme “#Let’s Relax in the Bath”—promotes Tokyo’s public bathhouses as new havens of relaxation.
From November 4 through February 28, 2027, the “Tokyo Sento U29 Discount Coupon” will be distributed, allowing people aged 29 and under to use participating public bathhouses for 300 yen per visit (the campaign will end once the allotted number of coupons is reached). For the time being, coupons can be obtained by scanning the QR codes on posters displayed at select public facilities in Tokyo—such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Consumer Affairs Center—and at universities; preparations are underway to make them available on the campaign website at a later date.
In addition, if a group of people visits the store and uses a coupon, every member of the group will receive a special sticker featuring the official mascot, “Yuppo-kun.” Details will be available on the campaign website, which will go live on November 4.
