The name of Fukuoka Airport’s new landmark is “TABISIA.” It features 44 stores, including the first-ever location of one of Japan’s largest Asian food courts.

Fukuoka International Airport (FIAC) has decided to name the mixed-use complex, scheduled to open in the summer of 2027, “TABISIA.”

Directly connected to the domestic terminal building, the complex primarily consists of retail spaces and also includes a hotel, a bus terminal, and boarding areas for shuttle buses connecting domestic and international flights, with approximately 180 stores. Combined with the existing stores in the domestic terminal building, the total number of stores reaches approximately 280, making it one of the largest such complexes at a domestic airport in terms of the number of stores accessible to non-passengers.

The shopping complex, comprising floors 1 through 4, features a lineup of food retailers and a street-food zone focused on Fukuoka and Kyushu, as well as travel goods stores, shops selling Japanese character merchandise, and stores that local residents can use on a daily basis. A particular highlight is “ASIYONG” (4th floor, approx. 700 seats), one of Japan’s largest Asian food floors, which features 44 restaurants serving cuisine from Japan and Asian destinations.

Among the tenants making their debut in Japan are the Taiwanese wonton specialty shop “Qi Fu Bian Shi (Kifuku Wonton)” and the beef noodle specialty shop “Seishin Chugoku Gyu-niku-men Shokkan,” which has been selected for the Michelin Bib Gourmand for five consecutive years, as well as “Yu Pin Yuan Bing Huo Tangyuan,” a specialty shop for shiratama shaved ice that originated in night markets, and “Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu,” a stir-fried noodle specialty shop in Bangkok run by a chef who earned a Michelin star in New York—just a few of the popular, high-quality establishments lining the street.

In addition, the “Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Fukuoka Airport” (tentative name), a hotel directly connected to the airport, will open on the 5th through 11th floors. It will feature a large public bath with a sauna and a fitness center, and of the 165 guest rooms, those on the upper floors will offer views of the runway and aircraft.
