On October 21, Hotel New Akao (1993-65 Atami, Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture) reopened its in-house French restaurant, “Bonheur,” following a renovation.
As part of the hotel’s phased renovation project, which began this past April, the restaurant has not only completely revamped its interior and furnishings but also expanded its wine cellar. While retaining its 180-degree view of Sagami Bay and its classic charm, the space has been transformed into an environment that evokes the atmosphere of a seaside resort.
In addition, the restaurant will offer a renewed eight-course dinner menu—featuring seasonal ingredients from the surrounding area and served in Atami-grown cypress dishes co-created with “Atami Kikories,” a local group dedicated to forest conservation—through February 28, 2027. This menu is available not only as part of the dinner included in overnight stays but also for day-trip visitors.
Prices start at 27,110 yen per person for one night with two meals included (based on double occupancy). Dinner only is 16,500 yen per person. Reservations can be made through the official website or by phone.
