The Kōnosu Fireworks Festival Executive Committee in Kōnosu City, Saitama Prefecture, will implement large-scale traffic restrictions in the vicinity of the Nukata Athletic Field, the Arakawa Riverbank, and the Yoshimi Paid Parking Lot, as well as on some roads around JR Kōnosu Station.

Traffic restrictions will begin at 7:00 a.m. with vehicle closures at the Nukata No. 1 and No. 2 venues and along the embankment; starting at 1:00 p.m., restrictions will be expanded to include some roads around the west exit of Konosu Station and the area surrounding the Poppy venue. Starting at 5:00 p.m., road closures will also be implemented around Onari Bridge and other areas; accordingly, check-in for the Nukata Venue No. 2 parking lot will close at that time.

Please note that vehicle traffic will be prohibited all day in certain sections around the launch site, and street parking, as well as viewing the event from bridges or embankments, is strictly prohibited. In addition, since heavy congestion is expected on the day of the event, the organizing committee urges attendees to arrive at the venue by 2:00 p.m. and asks those arriving by car to enter the parking lot by 1:00 p.m.

At the nearest JR Kōnosu Station, the route to the venue will vary depending on whether you have a ticket; in addition, during the crowded evening commute, a temporary upbound-only ticket gate will be opened at the East Exit for passengers heading toward Ōmiya and Tokyo. In addition, the city’s “Kōnosu Shared Taxi” service will have its operating hours shortened to 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the “Flower” community bus will suspend some of its routes.

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Konosu City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Division, this year’s event featured a Blue Impulse demonstration flight starting at 4:00 p.m., followed by a fireworks display beginning at 5:30 p.m. Another highlight will be an attempt to set a “Guinness World Record” for the number of large fireworks launched in succession over a three-minute period.
