Takashimaya: Tote Bags Designed by Yuko Higuchi. Two Limited-Edition Styles for 2026, Available via Lottery to App Members

Posted on October 20, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Takashimaya will release two types of limited-edition 2026 Christmas tote bags designed by artist Yuko Higuchi. Each bag is priced at 6,270 yen and will be sold via a lottery exclusively to Takashimaya app members. The application period runs from November 11 to 15, and winners are scheduled to be announced around November 24.

The tote bags that were so popular last year are back this year with new designs. The “RED” version features an adorable cat facing forward, while the “PINK” version depicts the characters that adorned the windows at Nihonbashi Takashimaya last year. Both are limited-edition designs for 2026.

The tote bag measures approximately 38 × 38 cm (width × depth), and the handles are approximately 50 cm long. The outer fabric is polyester, and the lining is nylon.

Purchases are limited to Takashimaya app members only, and quantities are limited. Each person may apply for up to one item per design. To apply or make a purchase, you must download the app and register for a free membership.

Winners may make their purchases between November 25 and December 1. If you selected “in-store purchase” when entering the contest, you can make your purchase at any Takashimaya store; if you selected “online store,” you can make your purchase from 10:00 a.m. on November 25 to 11:59 p.m. on December 1. In-store sales are available at all Takashimaya stores except for a few.

The campaign will also feature a chocolate assortment (3,780 yen) designed by Yuko Higuchi. The tin, featuring a cat dressed as Santa Claus surrounded by roses, contains a total of 36 chocolates in 10 different varieties. Starting at 10:00 a.m. on November 11, the Takashimaya Online Store will hold a first-come, first-served sale exclusively for app members.

In addition, eligible members who make a purchase of 5,500 yen or more at participating stores will receive an original paper ornament, and limited-edition shopping bags will also be distributed.
