On October 7, Workman held a press conference in Tokyo to announce its “New Products for Coping with Extreme Weather in Fall/Winter 2026,” where it unveiled for the first time the full lineup of the “XShelter” series—high-performance apparel featuring the company’s proprietary “wearable insulation”—for the Fall/Winter 2026 season.
XShelter is Workman’s flagship line of apparel that applies the concept of insulation materials used in homes and other buildings to clothing. Its key feature is that it prevents cold and heat from entering from the outside while maintaining a comfortable environment inside the garment—neither too hot nor too cold (temperature approximately 31–33°C, humidity of approximately 40–50%).
Unlike ordinary “winter coats,” this garment is designed to keep you comfortable in a single layer—whether in the bitter cold of midwinter, in a heated room, or on a crowded train—without the hassle of putting it on or taking it off.
There are four types of XShelter materials used this season, comprising a total of 66 items. In addition to the previously announced and released “Insulation α (Alpha),” “Insulation β (Beta),” and “XShelter Comfort Insulation Σ (Sigma),” a new line of cold-weather apparel featuring the top-of-the-line “Insulation Ω (Omega)” will be released sequentially starting in October.
