To commemorate its 25th anniversary, Tokyo DisneySea will release a Duffy “plush toy” (99,000 yen) produced by the German plush toy brand “Steiff” on November 2.
Duffy is dressed in a sailor outfit reminiscent of the show “My Friend Duffy,” which is familiar to fans. This is a limited edition of only 3,000 pieces (each with a serial number).
The total height is approximately 29 cm; when seated, the height is approximately 21 cm. Since each figure is handmade, the facial expressions vary from one to another.
The ears feature Steiff’s trademark “Button-in-Ear” design, along with a white tag bearing the Steiff logo in red lettering to indicate that it is a limited-edition item. The rear of the toy is shaped like Mickey Mouse.
A letter and a bottle written by Minnie Mouse are included so that Mickey Mouse won’t feel lonely while he’s out at sea. They can be hung around Duffy’s neck.
The packaging features a special box designed to resemble a picture book. When opened, it reveals the story of Duffy’s first encounter and scenes from Cape Cod.
