JR Central and JR West are holding a limited-seat “EX Early Bird ☆ Limited-Time Sale!” offering discounted regular-class reserved seats on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen Nozomi trains during the year-end and New Year’s holidays.
Northbound (Nagoya/Kyoto/Shin-Osaka/ Okayama/Hiroshima → Tokyo/Shinagawa/Shin-Yokohama) are valid for travel from December 25 to 31, while southbound routes (Tokyo/Shinagawa/Shin-Yokohama → Nagoya/Kyoto/Shin-Osaka/Okayama/Hiroshima) are valid for travel from January 2 to 4, 2027. The sale price applies when booking for two or more people at the same time via Express Reservation or Smart EX. Tickets go on sale from 5:30 a.m. on November 5 until 40 days before each travel date.
As examples of sale prices, a one-way ticket from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka costs 12,000 yen per adult (a 2,920 yen discount from the regular peak-season price) and 6,000 yen per child (a 1,450 yen discount from the regular peak-season price). For the Tokyo–Hiroshima route, the one-way fare for one adult is 15,000 yen (a 4,960 yen discount from the standard peak-season price), and the one-way fare for one child is 7,500 yen (a 2,480 yen discount from the standard peak-season price).
Please note that when making a reservation, you will select your desired train from a tentative schedule, and you cannot specify a seat (you can change your seat starting at 10:00 a.m. one month before the date of travel).
