“Fall Unlimited Ride Pass” Available Starting Tomorrow. Unlimited rides on JR local trains for 3 days—a better deal than the Seishun 18 Ticket.

Posted on October 4, 2026 by Editor in Chief

To coincide with “Railway Day” on October 14, the JR Group will once again offer the “Fall Unlimited Ride Pass” and the “Fall Unlimited Ride Pass with Hokkaido Shinkansen Option” for fiscal year 2026. Tickets will be on sale from September 18 to October 16, and the passes are valid from October 3 to 18.

The Autumn Unlimited Ride Pass is a ticket that allows unlimited travel for three consecutive days on ordinary and rapid trains (in non-reserved seating) on JR lines nationwide, as well as on BRT and the JR West Miyajima Ferry. It cannot be used on limited express or express trains (including the Shinkansen) or in reserved Green Car seats; passengers must also purchase the appropriate fare tickets and a ticket for the applicable route in addition to this pass.

The prices are the same as last year (2025): 7,850 yen for adults and 3,920 yen for children. Compared to the “Seishun 18 Ticket,” which is valid for three consecutive days (10,000 yen for adults; no children’s rate), these prices offer even better value.

The Autumn Unlimited Ride Pass with Hokkaido Shinkansen Option is a ticket that allows for one one-way trip in standard-class seating on the Hokkaido Shinkansen between Shin-Aomori Station and Kikonai Station, as well as one one-way trip on the Donan Isaribi Railway Line between Kikonai Station and Goryokaku Station.

If you have a reserved seat on the Hokkaido Shinkansen or make a stop at any station on the Donan Isaribi Railway Line (excluding Kikonai Station), you must pay the fare and surcharges for the entire route traveled. Additionally, you must present this pass along with your Autumn Unlimited Ride Pass when using it.

The sales period is September 18 through October 18, and the validity period is October 3 through 18 (the same as the Fall Unlimited Ride Pass). The price is 4,650 yen for adults and 2,320 yen for children.
