Workman’s “Wearable Bag”—outerwear where the pockets take center stage. You can wear it as a backpack when it gets hot.

Posted on September 30, 2026 by Editor in Chief

On September 8, Workman held the “WORKMAN Fall/Winter 2026 New Product Launch Event” at the Tokyo International Forum.

From the women’s “Outdoor” line, a highly water-repellent “bagless jacket” and “bagless pants”—designed as “wearable bags” that let you head out light and hands-free—are now available. The jacket is priced at 3,990 yen and the pants at 2,900 yen. They come in two sizes (M and L) and three colors: black, green, and beige.

The back of this bagless jacket features a large, padded pocket that can hold about 13 liters of items. You can store items such as water bottles, umbrellas, makeup pouches, and a change of clothes just like you would in a backpack. It seems like it would be useful for outings with small children, running errands around the neighborhood, or heading to the gym or sauna.

Adjusting the length of the shoulder straps on the inside helps the jacket retain its shape even when loaded with a lot of gear, and makes the weight of the load feel less noticeable. When it’s hot, you can turn the jacket inside out while keeping your arms through the shoulder straps to wear it like a backpack.

There are three pockets on the front, and the largest one can hold a 600-mL plastic bottle. Hidden beneath the removable shoulder pouch is another zippered pocket.

These bagless pants are a versatile piece that’s perfect for everything from everyday outings to active outdoor adventures. By unzipping the lower leg to remove the hem, you can wear them as shorts.

With its large-capacity storage pockets, which are convenient for carrying bulky items, you won’t need a separate bag. It features a smartphone pocket on the waistband, and the large pocket has an additional inner pocket; the elastic inside securely holds a plastic water bottle in place.

Participating stores include “Workman Colors” and “#Workman Girls,” which specialize in high-performance casual wear (not workwear), as well as “Workman Plus,” located inside shopping centers. As of the evening of September 10, the online store is out of stock.
