The Toyohashi City Museum of Natural History (located within the Toyohashi General Zoological and Botanical Park at 1-238 Oana, Oiwa-cho, Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture) is hosting a special exhibition titled “Pokémon Observatory” through December 6.
A special exhibition that explores various mysteries of the universe—such as the Moon and galaxies—in light of the mysterious behaviors of Pokémon. Supervised by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan and in cooperation with JAXA, the exhibition has been touring venues across the country for three years. In addition to panels and hands-on exhibits, visitors can see the “meteorite fossil”—making its world debut at the Toyohashi venue—as well as samples from the asteroid Ryugu brought back by Hayabusa2.
The venue will also feature life-size models of Pokémon with strong ties to space, such as the Sky Pokémon “Rayquaza,” the DNA Pokémon “Deoxys,” and the Celestial Pokémon “Gothitelle.”
Visitors who enter after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, weekends, or holidays will receive an original visitor pass exclusive to the Toyohashi venue. In addition to same-day tickets, discounted advance online tickets are available through JR Tokai’s “EX Travel Destination Reservation” service.
