TENTIAL held its “26FW Product Exhibition” at its Tokyo showroom, unveiling its fall/winter items, which will go on sale starting today, September 10.
This season, the company has developed “SELFLAME,” a new specialty fiber made from a blend of polyester, nylon, and rayon, and is launching the “BAKUNE” series of general medical recovery wear that prioritizes “comfort against the skin” in addition to its fatigue-recovery benefits.
While most recovery wear designed to promote blood circulation and relieve fatigue typically uses a special polyester fiber in its fabric, this new collection reportedly leverages the unique characteristics of each of these three materials to create a texture that suits individual preferences.
Of particular note are the “BAKUNE Pajama Knit Gauze” (15,400 yen each for top and bottom), available September 10, and the “BAKUNE Smooth Light Sweatshirt for Women” (15,950 yen each for top and bottom). Both items are made from a special rayon fiber that features a smooth, comfortable fabric.
Developed in response to requests for “recovery wear made from natural materials that is gentle on the skin,” the “BAKUNE Pajama Knit Gauze” is made from 100% naturally derived fibers (51% rayon, 49% cotton). It features rayon far-infrared yarn blended with the special “SELFLAME” fiber to promote blood circulation.
Although we already have existing models of gauze pajamas, we’ve updated this new release to offer a texture that feels even more like a second skin. We’ve addressed the “lack of stretch”—a common weakness of standard woven gauze—by using a knit fabric construction.
In addition to the excellent breathability characteristic of traditional gauze, the combination of cotton and rayon—which offer superior moisture absorption and release—ensures that you won’t feel any uncomfortable stuffiness while you sleep.
Another major highlight this season is the expansion of the women’s lineup. Since the collection has traditionally consisted mostly of unisex items, the brand is launching a new line of recovery wear designed with silhouettes that cater specifically to women’s needs.
One such item is the “BAKUNE Smooth Light Sweat Women’s” (15,950 yen each for the top and bottom), which is made from 94% rayon (Modal). This recovery wear features a cropped top and flared pants with a built-in belly warmer, creating the illusion of a higher waistline and helping to flatter your figure.
This way, you can pack it as sleepwear for a trip, but you can also wear it outside—even just to pop into a convenience store. The brand paid special attention to the texture of the soft, flowing fabric, claiming it offers “the smoothest feel against the skin in BAKUNE’s history.”
Furthermore, on October 1, we launched the “BAKUNE Merino Wool Sweatshirt” (19,910 yen each for top and bottom) and the “BAKUNE Sweatshirt Warm” (14,410 yen each for top and bottom), which achieves a lightweight design while maintaining warmth, will be newly released on October 1.
“BAKUNE” is a brand dedicated to promoting daily recovery through sleep, with the goal of helping people wake up the next day ready to perform at their best. The brand focuses not only on pajamas but also on bedding.
While the company currently offers products such as comforters and light blankets, the “BAKUNE Blanket”—its first-ever blanket—is scheduled to go on sale in October. It features a soft, smooth alpaca-style flannel fabric on the side that touches the skin; when I actually tried it out, the texture was so irresistibly comfortable that I just wanted to keep touching it.
Another nice feature is that it’s designed to be machine-washable at home, and the upper part is designed to keep the neck area extra warm, so it should come in handy during the cold winter ahead.
You can choose from the following sizes: single (24,970 yen), semi-double (32,450 yen), double (36,960 yen), queen (41,910 yen), and king (48,400 yen).
