Miyazaki Prefecture’s “Kyushu Recovery Support Discount” will be available for booking on Jalan and Rakuten starting September 25. The prefecture’s own travel support program, “Hina Tabi,” will also begin in early next year.

Miyazaki Prefecture has announced the details of the “Kyushu Recovery Support Discount—Miyazaki Travel Campaign.” Further details will be provided on the official website, which is scheduled to go live around 3:00 p.m. on September 16.

Measures implemented under the Japan Tourism Agency’s “Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake Tourism Support Program” to quickly restore travel demand, which had declined due to the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake. The program provides subsidies covering up to 50% of travel expenses for accommodations within the prefecture (up to 60% for tours that include Kumamoto and Kagoshima).

The discount is valid for stays from October 1 through December 25 and will end once the budget is exhausted. Please note that residents of Miyazaki Prefecture are also eligible.

The maximum discount amount is the same as that announced by the Japan Tourism Agency for the “Kyushu Recovery Support Discount”: 20,000 yen per night for accommodation-only packages and accommodation-and-transportation packages; 30,000 yen for accommodation-and-transportation packages of two or more nights; and 35,000 yen for multi-destination tour packages that span two or more prefectures.

The reservation start dates for each sales method are as follows. Reservations made before the start of sales are not eligible for the discount.

Reservations via Jalan and Rakuten Travel: Scheduled to go on sale starting at 10:00 a.m. on September 25, 2026

Direct Bookings at Accommodations: Starting September 28, 2026, bookings will be available sequentially from accommodations as they become ready.

Reservations through travel agencies: Sales will begin sequentially starting September 28, 2026, as travel agencies become ready.

In conjunction with the implementation of the Kyushu Recovery Support Discount, it has been decided to postpone the start of the second phase of the prefecture’s own travel support program, the “Hina Tabi” Miyasagi Accommodation Campaign.

Previously, the campaign covered stays from December 1 through January 30, 2027, but organizers are now considering extending it to include stays starting January 4. Information regarding the start date for reservations, sales methods, and the new discount period will be announced on the official “Hina Tabi” Miyazaki Accommodation Campaign website starting in November.
