Miyagi Prefecture will offer the “Miyagi Drive & Stay Discount” from October 1 through February 15, 2027.

This campaign offers “Eraberu Pay” electronic money worth 5,000 yen per rental car (or 2,000 yen if the rental is within Sendai City) to customers who rent a car for two or more days and stay overnight in Miyagi Prefecture during that period. The campaign is expected to cover approximately 10,000 vehicles.

Pre-registration will open at 10:00 a.m. on September 18, and the campaign website is scheduled to go live at the same time.

After using the service, simply submit images of your rental car and lodging receipts to receive “Eraburu Pay,” which is valid for 12 months. Eraburu Pay can be exchanged for 21 different reward programs, including d Points, Rakuten Points, PayPay Points, Amazon gift cards, and V Points.

At a press conference on the 14th, Miyagi Prefecture Governor Yoshihiro Murai explained the campaign’s objective, stating, “There are tourist destinations within the prefecture that are difficult to visit using public transportation. Therefore, we aim to encourage travelers to explore these areas and stay overnight using rental cars, thereby attracting visitors to various parts of the prefecture and boosting tourism spending.”
