The Portuguese National Tourism Board showcases the charms of the Alentejo, Central Portugal, Porto, and Northern Portugal. Freshly baked “pastéis de nata” will also be distributed.

“Tourism EXPO Japan 2026,” one of the world’s largest travel events, is being held at Tokyo Big Sight for four days, from September 24 to 27.

The Portuguese National Tourism Board is exhibiting in the Europe Corner of East Hall 1. In the corner of the booth, three regions—Alentejo, Central Portugal, and Porto and Northern Portugal—are featured with detailed information. In the center of the booth, 19 Portuguese tourism-related businesses are lined up, and a talk show is scheduled to take place on Portuguese food culture and the connections between culinary experiences in Portugal and Japan.

Every day around 3:00 p.m., the organizers plan to hand out freshly baked “Pastel de Nata” for tasting. There don’t seem to be any specific requirements; they’ll be given out to visitors who happen to be there at the right time. This is a traditional Portuguese tart made with a flaky pastry crust topped with custard cream. It is said to be the original version of the egg tart.

The Portugal Tourism Board’s booth is also participating in the “Tourism SDGs Stamp Rally,” which will be held at the venue on the 26th and 27th. If you collect 10 stamps, you’ll receive a raffle ticket.
