“Tourism EXPO Japan 2026,” one of the world’s largest travel events, is being held at Tokyo Big Sight for four days from September 24 to 27. JR East and the Tohoku Tourism Promotion Organization are showcasing the Tohoku region, which is easily accessible by Shinkansen from the Tokyo metropolitan area.
This issue focuses on travel and relocation, featuring examples of itineraries that allow visitors to enjoy delicious local cuisine, hot springs, and other attractions. It also included information on the “Michinoku Sea Breeze Trail,” which offers visitors the chance to fully experience the natural beauty of the Tohoku region.
There are also areas inside the booth where visitors can take commemorative photos. One area lets you pose in traditional festival costumes from the Tohoku and Niigata regions, and the other lets you try on a stationmaster’s uniform (children’s size).
In addition, on the days open to the public, there will be booths where visitors can sample sake and ice cream from various parts of the Tohoku region.
