Huis Ten Bosch will present “The Starlight Million,” a new light display that has undergone a major renovation for the first time in 16 years. The event will run from November 6 through February 25, 2027.
At The Starlight Million, European cityscapes blend with the twinkling of the stars; by scattering countless stars across windowsills, cobblestone streets, and the tree-lined avenues surrounding the squares, the venue aims to create an experience that feels like walking beneath a twinkling night sky.
At Amsterdam City, located in the heart of the park, more than 100 star-shaped installations shine on the walls and at the base of the buildings. Visitors can actually touch the twinkling stars and enjoy the experience of being enveloped in their light. There will also be a large moon-shaped installation where visitors can sit, as well as special effects that incorporate smoke and water features.
The tree-lined path along the canal leading to Amsterdam City will also be adorned with sparkling star-shaped lights. The design for the street trees creates an atmosphere where stars seem to accumulate and twinkle as if spilling from the tips of the branches. The entire 500-meter-long canal will be filled with light. In addition, the “Waterfall of Light,” which boasts a width of approximately 66 meters, and the “Aurora Garden of Light” will also be updated.
In addition, from November 6 to December 25, the Christmas event “European Holy Christmas”—featuring the largest-scale decorations to date—will be held simultaneously, allowing visitors to enjoy a scene where the twinkling of the stars created by the illuminations blends with the festive Christmas atmosphere.
