The Konosu Fireworks Festival Executive Committee in Konosu City, Saitama Prefecture, will hold the “Go for It! Chamber of Commerce Youth Division!! 23rd Konosu Fireworks Festival” on October 10. On September 1, it was decided that the demonstration flight by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force’s Blue Impulse would begin at 4:00 p.m. (The time is subject to change or cancellation depending on weather conditions, airspace restrictions, and other factors.)
The air show is part of a program commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Konosu City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Division. In the evening, approximately 20,000 fireworks will be set off at the same venue. During the fireworks display, organizers will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the number of large fireworks launched in succession over a three-minute period.
The event will be held at the Nukata Athletic Field (1073-1 Nukata, Kōnosu City, Saitama Prefecture) and along the Arakawa Riverbank, both located about a 20-minute walk from Kōnosu Station on the JR Takasaki Line.
Tickets for the paid seating areas are currently on sale at Lawson Ticket. Of the 17 blocks, 14 are already sold out, and as of 2:00 p.m. on September 1, only blocks T, U, and V in the Nukata Venue 2 seating area remain available for purchase. Paid parking is available adjacent to the venue, and restrooms are provided on-site, making it a recommended option for families with children.
The paid seating area is scheduled to open at 1:00 p.m. If you purchase a ticket, you can spend the entire day in a reserved seat—from the 4:00 p.m. air show to the evening fireworks display—without having to fight for a spot.
Please note that large-scale traffic restrictions will be in effect around the venue on the day of the event. The restrictions are expected to begin sequentially by section starting at 7:00 a.m. As in previous years, surrounding roads tend to become extremely congested after 2:00 p.m., and paid parking lots may reach capacity around 3:00 p.m. We recommend arriving by around 2:00 p.m. to view the Blue Impulse performance.
