The Disney Store at Shinsaibashi Parco held its grand opening on August 26. It is the largest store of its kind in Western Japan and offers items exclusive to this location.
The store’s design is themed around a “magical journey.” It is based on a story that begins with a book discovered by Mickey Mouse, dressed as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”—a concept being introduced in Japan for the first time.
The store is known for its festive atmosphere, featuring the “Train of Wonder”—a steam locomotive that carries Disney characters on a journey—as it winds its way through the store. At the entrance, Stitch, dressed as an engineer, greets guests.
A total of 23 items exclusive to the Shinsaibashi PARCO store are now available. You can purchase plush toys (4,200 yen) featuring Mickey Mouse and friends dressed in red and blue striped outfits that are quintessentially Osaka-style.
In addition, the store is currently selling products featuring highly regional designs, such as mini towels bearing the “SHINSAIBASHI” logo (900 yen) and “Urupocha-chan” plush toys (1,800 yen) featuring takoyaki and okonomiyaki designs.
