Loyds Cocoa & Chocolate Town (1-1 Loyds Town, Tobetsu, Ishikari District, Hokkaido) will hold an “all-you-can-pack” chocolate event on September 5 and 6 to celebrate its third anniversary.
In a box shaped like a whole cake to celebrate the 3rd anniversary, you can fill it with any combination of eight popular chocolates—such as potato chip crunch and gianduja—and take it home.
Tickets are available that include a tour of “Loyds Cacao & Chocolate Town”—a hands-on facility where visitors can enjoy learning about everything from cacao farming to chocolate making—along with an all-you-can-pack experience. Prices are 2,500 yen for adults (high school students and older) and 1,800 yen for children ages 4 through middle school.
The 3rd-anniversary event runs through September 30. In addition to the “all-you-can-pack chocolate” promotion, the event features “half-price admission on weekdays in September” and “tickets sold with a limited-edition Cacao Bear plush toy.” At the in-house workshops, visitors can also try their hand at making giant chocolate bars (1,700 yen, 30 minutes).
To get to the facility, it takes about 40 minutes from Sapporo Station via the JR Gakuen-Toshi Line and a free shuttle bus. From New Chitose Airport, it takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes by car.
