On August 25, Live Max rebranded and reopened the former “Mt. Tsukuba Onsen Hotel Ichimou” as “Live Max Resort Mt. Tsukuba Onsen” (64-2 Tsukuba, Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture).
To get there, take the Tsukuba Express to Tsukuba Station, then the Mt. Tsukuba shuttle bus for about 35 minutes; from the “Mt. Tsukuba Shrine Entrance” bus stop, it’s about a 5-minute walk. Alternatively, it’s about a 35-minute drive from the Tsuchiura-Kita Interchange on the Joban Expressway.
Located halfway up Mount Tsukuba, it is known for its expansive views of the Kanto Plain and its natural hot springs. Visitors can enjoy the changing seasons of nature here, from the fresh greenery of spring to the autumn foliage and the crisp, clear views of winter.
At the on-site hot spring facility, “Livemax Tsukuba-san Onsen,” guests can enjoy natural hot springs while taking in the natural beauty of Mount Tsukuba, and an authentic löyly sauna is also available. Dinner and breakfast feature dishes made with seasonal ingredients and local specialties.
