JR Kyushu will hold a one-day project called “GO WEST 4” on October 3 to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the West Kyushu Shinkansen.
To coincide with this, the “GO-NORIHODAI” T-shirt ticket—which offers unlimited rides on the West Kyushu Shinkansen “Kamome” for one day, valid only on October 3—will go on sale starting at 10:00 a.m. on September 3. Simply wearing the T-shirt serves as your ticket, granting unlimited travel in standard-class non-reserved seats between Takeo Onsen Station and Nagasaki Station. It also entitles you to special perks at select stores near each station and allows you to enjoy events held at five stations on the same day at a discounted rate. The price is 3,000 yen for adults and 1,500 yen for children.
In addition to the JR Kyushu app (which requires pickup for reservations), the product is available at FamilyMart, Meishinzou, and Aeon Kyushu (select stores in Saga and Nagasaki Prefectures), among other locations.
The theme of the 4th-anniversary project is “Night.” On the day of the event, activities will be held in front of each station along the West Kyushu Shinkansen line. Visitors will have the chance to enjoy a different atmosphere than usual—including dancing the “Kamome Ondo” together, a fun dance routine that incorporates the movements of seagulls and station staff, as well as sampling local specialties from communities along the line.
In addition, they will hold a check-in rally where participants can win a pair of tickets for the D&S train, and will also sell discounted unlimited-ride passes valid starting October 4.
