The second phase of the “Niigata GoTo Travel” campaign offers discounts of up to 30%. Reservations open on September 7, making fall and winter trips to Niigata a great deal.

Niigata Prefecture will launch the second phase of its “Niigata GoTo Travel” travel support campaign on September 7.

This program offers residents of Niigata Prefecture discounts of up to 30% on travel and lodging costs within the prefecture. The maximum discount per person per night is 5,000 yen, and business travel is not eligible. While the first phase offered a maximum discount of 20% (a 3,000-yen discount), the second phase has expanded the discount to encourage more people to visit various parts of the prefecture.

The eligible stay period is from check-in on September 7 through check-out on December 29. There are no restrictions on the number of consecutive nights or the number of stays; however, the promotion will end once the budget is exhausted.

Accommodation and travel reservations can be made through travel agency branches located within the prefecture or through OTAs (Ikyu.com, Club Tourism, JTB, Nippon Travel Agency, Yumeyado, Yukoyuko, Rakuten Travel, Jalan.net, and Tobu Top Tours). Direct reservations made with accommodation facilities are not eligible for the discount.
