USJ to Release Butterbeer with a Special Mug at an Event Marking the 25th Anniversary of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”

Posted on August 23, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Universal Studios Japan will host the “Back to Hogwarts” event, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the release of the movie *Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone*, in its popular “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” area starting September 1.

On the same day, “Butterbeer”—a classic non-alcoholic drink featured in the films—will go on sale in a special anniversary edition that comes with a matching mug, and the lineup will also feature eight new collectible drawstring pouches—each exuding a sense of luxury and featuring the emblems of the four houses—as well as a new stained-glass suncatcher bearing the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry emblem, which reflects sunlight to create a magical glow.

As part of USJ’s anniversary celebrations spanning fall through winter, on September 1—when the new school year begins at Hogwarts—the park will host the “Back to Hogwarts Special Event,” a one-day-only special event where fans will have exclusive access to the park after closing time (Registration is now closed). Additionally, the popular attraction “Hogwarts Castle Walk,” which allows guests to explore Hogwarts Castle—a stunning recreation of the movie’s world—will return for a limited time from September 1 through January 17, 2027.

In addition, the hotel will roll out a variety of special events, including the limited distribution of original stickers inspired by the “Hyakumi Beans” advertisement, starting September 2.
