The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and GovTech Tokyo have launched the official version of “Tokyo Map,” a website that allows users to view a variety of map information useful for residents’ daily lives all in one place.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government provides map information useful to residents on the websites of its various bureaus and other agencies; however, users had to access each individual website to find information tailored to their specific needs.
Tokyo Map consolidates this map data onto a single website, allowing users to overlay and view multiple map layers on a single screen. Currently, 10 types of map data are available across fields such as disaster prevention, the environment and nature, digital technology, social welfare, and water supply, and users can freely combine them to view the information.
It also features a function that combines and displays relevant map information by theme in advance. There are three themes available: “Protect Yourself from the Summer Heat,” “Review Your Action Plan for Earthquakes,” and “Review Your Action Plan for Floods.”
The “Protect Yourself from the Summer Heat” section features the “Tokyo Heat Map,” the “TOKYO GREEN BIZ MAP” (which shows parks and green spaces), and the “Tokyowater Drinking Station” (which shows locations for free drinking water).
The “Check Your Action Plan for Earthquakes” section displays the “Tokyo Damage Projection Map,” “TOKYO FREE Wi-Fi,” and “Disaster Water Distribution Stations” all in one place. The “Check Your Action Plan for Floods” section allows you to view the “Flood-Prone Area Maps,” “TOKYO FREE Wi-Fi,” and “Disaster Water Distribution Stations.”
