Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Opens Two Stores in Succession at Tokyo Station and Kokura Station in Kitakyushu; Store-Exclusive Items Featuring “Travel Suitcases” and “Sunflowers” Embroidery Also Available

Posted on August 23, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten will open two stores in quick succession: one at Kokura Station in Kitakyushu on September 10 and another at “Gransta Tokyo” inside JR Tokyo Station on September 16. In addition, to commemorate the opening of both stores, the company will sell three limited-edition items: an eco-bag, socks, and a towel handkerchief.

Until now, the company has operated stores primarily in the Hakata area of Fukuoka Prefecture, but to coincide with the renovation of the 3rd floor of the East Wing of “Amu Plaza Kokura”—which is directly connected to JR Kokura Station—it will open the “Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Amu Plaza Kokura Store,” its first location in the Kitakyushu area. Business hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Inside Gransta Tokyo, which is set to undergo a major renovation in September, the apparel-specialty store “Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Branch: Clothing—Gransta Tokyo Store”—which closed on August 31—will be renovated and reopened as “Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten—Gransta Tokyo Store,” a store offering a wide range of products for daily life, including clothing, food, and home goods. Located in the underground area inside the Marunouchi ticket gates, the store’s hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

To commemorate the opening of two consecutive stores, the company will offer a limited-edition line of embroidered items that combine motifs inspired by Tokyo Station and Kitakyushu with the deer—the symbol of Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten. The lineup includes three items: eco-bags, socks, and towel handkerchiefs.

The embroidery exclusive to the Gransta Tokyo Store features a “travel bag,” reflecting the fact that Tokyo Station serves as a travel hub for many people. By combining this with a deer, the design evokes the image of a traveling deer. The embroidery exclusive to the Amu Plaza Kokura store features a “sunflower,” a flower beloved as the symbol of Kitakyushu.
