I Visited “Google Store Omotesando,” Japan’s First Official Flagship Store Where You Can Try Out the Latest Pixel 11 Series

Posted on August 16, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Google will hold the grand opening of its company-operated flagship store, “Google Store Omotesando” (4-30-3 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), at “Omokado” in Tokyu Plaza Omotesando—located across from the Jingumae intersection in Harajuku—at 2:00 p.m. on August 13.

The store spans from the first basement level to the second floor above ground, and is said to have the largest floor area even when compared to Google Stores in the United States. It is the 11th Google Store. Facing Meiji-dori, it features a large L-shaped screen and is so eye-catching that you should be able to spot it right away. You can enter the store directly without going through “Omokado.” Business hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Pre-orders for the Google Pixel 11 series began on August 12 on the Google Store online, and the devices were officially announced at 7:00 a.m. on the 13th (Japan Standard Time). You can purchase them on the Google Store online and pick them up in-store. Of course, you can also purchase them directly at a store.

When you enter the first-floor store, the first thing that catches your eye is a special exhibition titled “CALIFORNIA DREAMING—A Landscape of Colors,” created by Google Hardware Design Studio 2026. This installation is designed to complement the colors and designs of the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL. It clearly illustrates where the Design Studio drew its inspiration from and how it incorporated those elements into its 2026 products. It’s also a great reference for choosing your favorite color.

In addition to the full lineup of current Google Pixel devices, the event will also feature Google Home, the Pixel Watch, and more. There will be plenty of hands-on demo areas where visitors can try out the latest Agentic AI, Gemini Intelligence; HiLight, a feature that notifies users of incoming calls by lighting up the device, which is included in the Google Pixel 11 series; and the camera, among other features.

On the second floor, you’ll find the Pixel Studio—where you can have fun while trying out new experiences—as well as a workshop space and a merchandise corner. The Pixel Studio offers a variety of experiences, including a corner where you can take selfies with particles swirling in response to your movements, a corner where you can experience the super-resolution zoom of the Pixel camera, a corner where Gemini generates an avatar from your selfie and turns it into an ID card; a corner where Nano Banana transforms your selfie into a character using innovative ideas; a corner where Veo animates your selfie to create a video and prints the photo for you to take home as a souvenir; and a corner where you can move around in a space generated using the latest AI, Project Genie.

Since using Project Genie requires a subscription to the expensive Google AI Ultra plan, I highly recommend giving it a try here. Of course, you can try everything here for free.

A support area is available on the first basement level. It handles repairs for Pixel 6a and later models, as well as Watch 4 and later models; for warranty repairs, they aim to complete the service within two hours on the same day. There is also a dedicated consultation area where you can book appointments online. This is also where you can pick up items ordered through the online store.

The walls also serve as a gallery dedicated to sustainability, where visitors can learn about Google’s repair and recycling initiatives.
