The Kita Ward Fireworks Festival Executive Committee will hold the “Kita Ward Fireworks Festival: RED×BLUE SPARKLE GATE” on September 26. The event will take place on the Arakawa Riverbank near the Iwabuchi Sluice Gate, starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending at 7:40 p.m.
The event is scheduled to feature 10,000 fireworks, including some as large as No. 5 shells. This year, a new fireworks layout will be introduced, and there will also be a drone show by Red Cliff, the company that handled the visual effects for the World Expo.
Its appeal lies in the unique viewing experiences you can’t find at other fireworks festivals—such as the fireworks reflected on the water’s surface as seen from the Kawaguchi seating area, and the diagonal shots viewed from the opposite shore—and in 2025, it was ranked No. 1 in Walker Plus’s “Nationwide Ranking of Fireworks Festivals Worth Visiting.”
The Akabane venue is about a 20-minute walk from Akabane-Iwabuchi Station or Shimo Station on the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line, and about a 25-minute walk from JR Akabane Station (East Exit). The Kawaguchi venue is about a 25-minute walk from Kawaguchi-Moto-Go Station on the Saitama Rapid Railway. Admission to the free viewing area begins at 3:00 PM, and admission to the paid area begins at 4:00 PM.
Tickets for paid seating are currently on sale at “Ticket Pia.” Prices include 3,300 yen for general admission (Fan Zone), 6,600 yen and up for reserved seating, 6,600 yen and up for Akamizumon Group Seats, and 30,800 yen for Kawaguchi Premium Pair Seats, among others.
Food stalls are scheduled to be set up in the Aomizumon Zone, Akamizumon Zone, and free viewing area on the Akabane side, as well as in the paid viewing area on the Kawaguchi side.
