Seven airlines operating out of Haneda will tighten and move up their checked baggage drop-off deadlines to ensure on-time performance.

The Regular Airlines Association and its member airlines will implement measures to ensure compliance with boarding deadlines starting September 1.

We will once again make it clear that the “departure time” refers to the “time the aircraft begins to move,” and that, as a general rule, passengers cannot board once the “check-in deadline” has passed. Additionally, we will change the check-in deadlines for the seven airlines operating flights to and from Haneda Airport (JAL, JTA, ANA, AIRDO, Skymark, Solaseed Air, and StarFlyer) will change their checked baggage cutoff times.

Currently, JAL (including J-AIR) and JTA, which aim for a check-in deadline of 30 minutes before departure, and ANA, AIRDO, Solaseed Air, and StarFlyer, which have a deadline of 20 minutes before departure, will all tighten their policies and move their deadlines up to 30 minutes before departure. SkyMark, meanwhile, will continue to maintain a 20-minute-before-departure check-in deadline while continuing to evaluate the optimal timing.
