Reading Glasses You Can Buy as Easily as Choosing Stationery
“Reading Glasses” are making their debut as an extension of the stationery section, designed to be an easy solution for people of all ages who find it difficult to see items up close.
The collection features four basic styles: Boston, Wellington, Square, and Oval. Each style is available in two colors: black and brown.
The frames are made of a soft material that feels comfortable against the skin, ensuring they remain comfortable even during extended use, such as reading or watching videos on a smartphone. Our reporter tried them on and found that they provided just the right amount of support compared to the prescription glasses they usually wear; the nose pads didn’t cause any discomfort, and the glasses stayed in place even when looking down.
The prescription ranges from a mild +0.5D to a moderate +2.0D, in four steps of +0.5D each. A key feature is that even first-time users of reading glasses can easily find the right pair. Each pair is priced at 2,990 yen, and the product is scheduled to go on sale in late November.
