Japan Airport Building Corporation will begin operations at a new satellite facility on the north side of Haneda Airport’s Terminal 1 on September 1. Accordingly, JAL Group domestic flights departing from Haneda Airport will begin using the North Satellite on that same day.
Boarding gates 26 through 29 are located in the North Satellite Terminal, and the nearest security checkpoints are E and F. While passengers can access these gates directly from each security checkpoint without taking a bus, the distance to the boarding gates is longer than before, so passengers are urged to allow plenty of time for their journey.
The estimated walking time from Security Checkpoint E to the North Satellite is about 16 minutes (maximum distance: 1,068 meters), and from Security Checkpoint F, it is about 15 minutes (maximum distance: 968 meters).
According to the Kanto Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the satellite facility on the north side of Terminal 1 will feature a hybrid wood-and-steel structure—a first for Haneda Airport. It will include departure and arrival gate facilities for six spots.
In addition, plans are underway to reorganize Terminals 1 and 2 at Haneda Airport, and the connecting passage between the main building of Terminal 2 and the North Satellite is scheduled to open on March 19, 2025. The extension of the Satellite building is scheduled to open in the spring of 2027.
