The NEXCO East Japan Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line Management Office and the Tokyo Transverse Road will impose usage restrictions on the first-floor large parking lot (upbound lanes) and portions of the escalators and walkways on the third through fifth floors due to renovation work at the Umihotaru Parking Area on the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line. The restrictions are scheduled to be in effect from August 17 through late December.
During this period, access to some parking spaces in the large parking lot on the first floor (upbound side) will be restricted. Additionally, the north half of the downbound escalators and stairs on the third through fifth floors will be closed all day; visitors are asked to use the elevators or indoor stairs instead.
This project involves a complete renovation of the aging staircases, escalators, and roof. The roof will be converted to a membrane roof structure, transforming the space into one with a more open feel. Construction is scheduled to proceed in stages, shifting between different work sites, through the spring of 2027.
