Chubu Centrair International Airport announced that it will revise its International Passenger Facility Charge (International PSFC) effective November 1.
The revision applies to passengers departing on international flights from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The revised fees for Terminal 1 will be 3,000 yen for adults (currently 2,620 yen) and 1,500 yen for children (currently 1,310 yen). At Terminal 2, where low-cost carriers (LCCs) operate, the fees will increase to 1,600 yen for adults (currently 1,300 yen) and 800 yen for children (currently 650 yen).
The new fares will apply to passengers on international flights who purchase their tickets on or after September 1 and depart on or after November 1. There will be no changes to the eligible passengers or the method of collection (the “on-ticket” method, in which the fee is paid along with the airfare at the time of ticket purchase).
The PSFC refers to the fees allocated for the maintenance and management of airport lobbies and various facilities. With the exception of adjustments resulting from changes in the consumption tax rate, the airport has kept the PSFC fee unchanged since its opening and has introduced self-service check-in kiosks, self-service baggage drop-off machines, and shuttle buses between terminals. However, the airport has decided to implement this revision with the aim of ensuring the stable provision of passenger services.
