Akihiko Tanaka, President of JICA, met with Prime Minister Ware of the Solomon Islands in Tokyo on July 24.
At the outset, Chairman Tanaka stated that JICA is committed to cooperating with the Solomon Islands to support its development, with the aim of further strengthening relations between the two countries.
In response, Prime Minister Ware expressed his gratitude for JICA’s cooperation on projects in the Solomon Islands and stated his desire to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, the two sides exchanged views on future cooperation opportunities, including the further development of the Solomon Islands and human resource development.
In addition, in the presence of Prime Minister Ware, Chairman Tanaka signed a yen loan agreement with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Houenipuela for a “Development Policy Loan to Strengthen Fiscal and Economic Resilience.”
