On August 1, traffic restrictions will be in effect at Makuhari Seaside Park (2-116 Hibino, Mihama Ward, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture) and the surrounding area in conjunction with the “Makuhari Beach Fireworks Festival 2026 (48th Chiba Citizens’ Fireworks Festival).”
From 6:00 p.m. to around 10:30 p.m., vehicle access will be prohibited on “Messe Avenue” and other roads connecting the facilities at Makuhari Messe. Additionally, to prevent accidents caused by crowds of spectators, from 7:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the following pedestrian overpasses will be closed: “Seaside Bridge” , “Mihama-en Intersection,” “Makuhari Kaihin Park Intersection,” “Messe Ohashi Intersection,” and “in front of Toyosuna Park” will be closed to pedestrians to prevent accidents caused by crowds of visitors. Visitors heading from the nearest station, Kaihin-Makuhari Station on the JR Keiyo Line, toward the venue are advised to use the crosswalk at “Mihama-en Intersection.”
On the day of the event, Chiba Seaside Bus, Keisei Bus, and Heiwa Kotsu Bus will operate special buses from various locations—including Makuhari Station on the JR Sobu Line, Makuhari-Hongo Station on the JR Sobu and Keisei Lines, and Inage Station on the JR Sobu Line—to Kaihin-Makuhari Station and the temporary bus stop at the venue.
Heavy congestion is expected during the commute home after the event ends (8:30 p.m.), and access restrictions may be implemented at the nearest stations—JR Kaihin-Makuhari Station and JR Makuhari-Toyosuna Station—depending on the situation. In particular, trains arriving at JR Makuhari-Toyosuna Station bound for Tokyo may be so crowded that passengers may not be able to board; therefore, attendees are encouraged to use JR Kaihin-Makuhari Station for their return trip.
Please note that there is no parking lot or motorcycle parking area at the venue. For visitors arriving by bicycle, temporary bicycle parking areas have been set up along Kaihin Odori and near the “Kaze-no-Oka Entrance” on the first floor of the Grand Mall at the adjacent “AEON Mall Makuhari Shintoshin.” Parking bicycles in residential areas is strictly prohibited.
The fireworks display will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Held to commemorate the 900th anniversary of Chiba’s founding, this year’s event will feature approximately 24,000 fireworks—one of the largest displays in the country.
