The Disney Store will open its “Shinsaibashi Parco” location on August 26. To commemorate the opening, the company announced that it will release 23 limited-edition items.
The new store features Japan’s first design themed around a “magical journey,” based on a story that begins with a book discovered by Mickey Mouse, who is dressed as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”
A statue of Stitch dressed as an engineer is displayed at the entrance. Inside the store, the “Train of Wonder”—a steam locomotive that guides Disney’s friends on their journey—runs back and forth. Furthermore, at the back of the store, guests can experience “the ever-evolving world of Disney magic” through a display featuring Chip and Dale, who are designed to help create the pixie dust that fuels the steam locomotive.
To celebrate the grand opening, the store will offer approximately 23 types of in-store-exclusive merchandise. Items include a Mickey Mouse plush toy (4,200 yen) dressed in a colorful outfit featuring red and blue stripes, as well as a shopping bag (1,300 yen) emblazoned with the word “SHINSAIBASHI.” In addition, the store will carry a selection of sweets and stationery. Furthermore, a plush toy of Urupocha-chan—featuring takoyaki and okonomiyaki motifs—will be available (1,800 yen).
A gift campaign to celebrate the grand opening is also being held. Customers who spend 5,000 yen or more will receive an original tote bag, and limited-edition store cards will be provided to those who request them.
