Mitsui Fudosan announced that it will carry out one of the largest-scale renovations to date at the large-scale commercial facility “Mitsui Shopping Park Lazona Kawasaki Plaza” (72-1 Horikawa-cho, Saiwai-ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture) from October 2026 through the spring of 2029. This phased renovation is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the facility’s opening in 2006.
One of the highlights is the expansion of the first-floor food court. The current food court will temporarily close on September 30 and is scheduled to reopen in December 2027 following expansion work. As a result, the number of stores will increase significantly from the current 15 to 21, and the number of seats will rise from approximately 800 to approximately 1,200. In addition to shops suitable for everyday use, the lineup will feature renowned restaurants and trendy culinary options, and plans call for a wide range of seating types, from single-person seats to family-sized tables.
In addition, starting this fall in October, the West Mall and the second-floor station-side mall will be temporarily closed to allow for a major overhaul of the store lineup and renovations to the common areas. Both areas are scheduled to reopen in the summer of 2027, and a new cosmetics and fragrance area will be established in the second-floor station-side mall in particular.
Ahead of the full-scale renovation, 10 food and beverage outlets have been opening sequentially from June through September. “Sushi Katsu,” which serves authentic sushi made by skilled chefs starting at 140 yen per plate (excluding tax) via a touch-panel ordering conveyor belt, is opening its first location in a large-scale commercial facility. Also joining the lineup are “Yakiniku Heijoen,” a popular Kanto-based restaurant where diners can enjoy top-grade A5 Wagyu beef sourced from whole-cow purchases, and “Ryoshi Sakaba Araki,” which prides itself on fresh seafood and local cuisine from Kochi Prefecture, are among the new additions aimed at enhancing the complex’s culinary appeal.
