Hanshin Electric Railway and Sanyo Electric Railway have decided to name the reserved-seat service to be introduced on the new 3000 Series (6-car) express trains operating between Osaka Umeda Station and Sanyo Himeji Station on the Hanshin Main Line, Kobe Express Line, and Sanyo Electric Railway Main Line “Rakuyan Seat.”
The service is scheduled to launch in the spring of 2027, and the fee for a reserved seat ticket will be 300 yen per ride, in addition to the fare for the route.
The logo is designed to resemble a chair, using the letter “R”—the initial of RAKUYAN—as its motif. With its rounded, soft appearance, it is said to express the sense of security that comes from sitting down, the feeling of relaxation as body and mind unwind during a brief rest, and the casual, everyday comfort it brings.
There are two types of seats: the “L/C Seat,” which can be converted between long and cross configurations, and the “Long Seat.” The “L/C Seat” is 470 mm wide and features a power outlet, a reclining function, and a cup holder. The “Long Seat” is 500 mm wide and features only a power outlet.
