Authentic and cute “earthen figurine” items, including a hoodie that lets you dress up as the National Treasure “Gassho Earthen Figurine” and a handkerchief that lets you simulate an archaeological excavation scene

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the inscription of the “Jomon Archaeological Sites of Hokkaido and Northern Tohoku” on the World Heritage List, Felissimo has released a total of four items featuring “clay figurines” excavated from Jomon archaeological sites in Aomori.

The lineup includes the “Hand-in-Hand Mascots” (3 types, 2,200 yen each), which are based on three real-life Shakuki earthenware figurines and charmingly capture their individual characteristics, and “Earthenware Figurine Handkerchiefs” (3 types, 1,650 yen each), made of fluffy fabric with embedded earthenware figurine motifs that let you simulate an archaeological excavation experience; the “Costume Hoodie” (16,500 yen), which faithfully reproduces the National Treasure “Gassho-style Earthenware Figurine” down to the textured details of the face and patterns on the hood; and the web-exclusive “Pocket Towel Handkerchief” (1,650 yen), designed to be nearly life-size and modeled after the Important Cultural Property “Large Plate-shaped Earthenware Figurine” unearthed at the Sannai-Maruyama Site (1,650 yen).

In addition to the Felissimo Web Store, Aomori Prefecture Local Select (inside the Aomori Prefectural Tourism and Product Center Aspam), the Aomori Prefectural Museum of Art, Aomori Hokusaikan (Sannai-Maruyama Branch), Aomori Jomon Station JomoJomo (4th floor of the JR Aomori Station East Exit Building), the Hachinohe City Center for Buried Cultural Properties (Korekawa Jomon Museum), and the KANEIRI Museum Shop, starting in late July.
