Iris Ohyama will begin rolling out its “45L Freezer Trash Can” starting July 30. The price is to be determined.
By storing odor-causing waste—such as kitchen scraps, dog and cat litter pads and cat litter, and disposable baby diapers—in the freezer, you can suppress bacterial growth.
It can reduce odors from food waste by about 98% and from pet litter by about 99%, and the daily electricity cost is about 11 yen. It features a rapid-cooling mode that is particularly effective when large amounts of odor-causing waste are generated.
The bin has a capacity of 45 liters, which is equivalent to about 70 size M disposable diapers for babies. The unit measures approximately 315 × 545 × 845 mm (width × depth × height) and weighs about 23 kg.
