The Komatsushima Port Festival Organizing Committee in Tokushima Prefecture announced traffic restrictions in connection with the summer fireworks display to be held on July 19 as part of the “Komatsushima Port Festival.”
On the day of the event, traffic restrictions will be in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. throughout the Komatsushima Port New Harbor area. Additionally, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., general vehicles will be prohibited from entering the designated area (only event-related vehicles will be permitted). The Summer Fireworks Festival will begin at 8:00 p.m. (with the message fireworks starting at 7:45 p.m.), featuring a display of approximately 2,500 fireworks—one of the largest consecutive bursts of large fireworks in Shikoku.
Also on that day, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force’s Blue Impulse will perform an aerial demonstration starting at 12:20 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes. They will fly over a wide area stretching from north to south across Tokushima Prefecture.
Accordingly, traffic restrictions will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the Honko area—the viewing area within Komatsushima City—and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Akaishi East Pier and Mt. Hinomine; the trailhead on the Komatsushima City side of Mt. Hinomine will be closed to vehicles. In addition, traffic restrictions will be in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in front of Minami-Komatsushima Station.
