Orange Page will release “Suica Penguin Postcard Book: Full of Penguins Edition / Everyone’s Friends Edition” on July 16. Each book is postcard-sized, has 56 pages, and costs 1,760 yen.
This set includes 24 postcards featuring different designs of the Suica Penguin, baby penguins, and their friends, organized by theme. In addition to affixing a stamp and sending them as postcards, the set is also recommended for displaying in your room as decor or simply enjoying as an illustration collection.
The “Lots of Penguins” edition, featuring penguins dressed up as station attendants on the cover, was designed with the hope of “cherishing the memory of those adorable moments we shared together forever.” It depicts the penguins snowboarding, eating ekiben (station bento boxes) aboard a Shinkansen train, and enjoying the moon viewing.
In the “We’re All Friends” episode, featuring an adorable baby penguin striking a pose while riding an alpaca, scenes are depicted of the penguin marching alongside mallards, swimming in the ocean with dolphins, and comparing heights with a giraffe—all conveying the message, “Even when we set off for new places, we’ll always be together.”
The Suica Penguin is the mascot for JR East’s “Suica” transit IC card. It has been active for about 25 years, but it has been decided that it will “graduate” at the end of March 2027.
Orange Page has designated 2026 as the “Suica Penguin” Memorial Year and is rolling out a wide range of merchandise. In addition to the sticker book, the company plans to release a postcard book, a fan book with marshmallow stickers, and a large insulated tote bag as a special supplement to a special issue of the magazine “Orange Page.”
