Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, has been running the “Shimonoseki Accommodation Support Campaign,” a travel support initiative, since July 15.
Not only will you receive a 2,000-yen discount per person on lodging in Shimonoseki, but you’ll also get a 1,000-yen “Oto Coupon” that can be used at restaurants and souvenir shops in Shimonoseki. The lodging discount and coupon issuance are limited to 35,000 people, and the campaign will end once the budget limit is reached.
The eligible stay period is from September 1 to December 25, and check-in must be on a day other than a Saturday or the day before a national holiday. The minimum rate is 6,000 yen per person per night, and the discount amount remains the same even for consecutive nights.
The Otocoupon is valid from the check-in date through the check-out date. It will be issued as a balance in the digital regional currency app “regionPAY” or as a paper voucher.
The participating accommodations include Hotel Nishinagato Resort, Plaza Hotel Shimonoseki, Shimonoseki Grand Hotel, and Dormy Inn PREMIUM Shimonoseki, for a total of 41 properties (as of June 19). In addition to direct reservations via official websites or by phone, reservations can also be made through OTAs (online travel agencies) such as Agoda, Jalan, and Rakuten Travel.
