Nasu Highland Park (3375 Takaku Otsu, Nasu Town, Nasu District, Tochigi Prefecture) will open a new summer-only attraction, “Water Nasu-the-tic,” on July 17.
This activity involves navigating through various obstacle courses floating in a large temporary pool—approximately 35 meters long and 1.1 meters deep—and features courses of varying difficulty levels that can be enjoyed by everyone from children to adults. As a safety measure, the first-of-its-kind anti-sinking nets in Japan are installed beneath each flat-surface obstacle.
Admission fees are 2,000 yen for visitors entering the park only, and 500 yen for Fantasy Pass and annual pass holders. However, as part of an opening promotion, pass holders can enjoy the experience for free through July 31.
To participate, you must be at least 110 cm tall and weigh no more than 100 kg; the event is open to elementary school students (who must be accompanied by a guardian) through people under 70 years of age. In addition, dedicated changing rooms will be set up near the venue, and participants are required to wear life jackets, which are available for free rental. While swimwear is recommended, participants may also wear T-shirts and shorts. Since surf shorts and towels are available for purchase and rental on-site, visitors can enjoy the activity hassle-free without bringing anything.
Nasu Highland Park is one of the largest amusement parks in Northern Kanto, surrounded by the great outdoors of the Nasu Highlands. It features approximately 40 attractions, including eight different roller coasters, as well as shooting games and a cave exploration ride.
